Melva Dilling 70, of Spring Valley, passed away May 20, 2010 at her home.
Mrs. Dilling was born December 17, 1939 in LaSalle to John and Gertrude (Bernard) Housby. She married William James Dilling on June 1, 1957 at St. Patricks Church, LaSalle he passed away November 25, 1996. She worked as a foster grandparent for Peru Public Schools for 3 years.
She is survived by her children William James (Lucille) Dilling, Jr., of LaSalle, Terri (Denis) Zafiros of LaSalle, Alice (Daniel) Buczkowski of LaSalle, Vicki (William) Palmieri of Spring Valley, Brenda (Robert) Alteri of Peru; 19 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren; 4 brothers James Housby, Robert Housby, Edward Housby and John Housby; 5 sisters Hazel Conrad, Thelma Conrad, Nancy Bejster, Ella Davis and Sandra Bland.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband William James Dilling, Sr., grandson Denis P. Zafiros III and 3 sisters. Pallbearers will be Jacob Zafiros, William J. Dilling III, William J. Dilling, Jr., Joshua Palmieri, Steven R. Alteri and Eric Kellett.
