Mellissa D. Carlisle, age 56 was called to home on Saturday, June 8, 2019. She was the 5th child born to the union of T. J. & Amy Carlisle on November 23, 1962 in RIderwood, Alabama (Choctaw County).
Melissa accepted Christ at an early age uniting with the Mr. Nebo Baptist Church in Pushmataha, Alabama.
Mellissa attended Choctaw County High School, Butler, Alabama graduating in 1980. She attended the University of Alabama – Tuscaloosa, Alabama graduating in 1984 with a B. A. degree in Communications. While attending the University, she joined the ROTC where she was commissioned into the Air Force upon graduation. She served four years – August 2, 1990 – August 13, 1993 in support of Operation Desert Shield/Storm.
Mellissa is preceded in death by her father T. J. Carlisle in 2002, her mother, Amy Carlisle in 2009, a brother, Col. (ret.) Alexander Carlisle in 2018. Cherishing her memories one sister, Betty C. Washington (Frank), Tuscaloosa, Alabama; two brothers, Andrew Carlisle and Willie Carlisle (Shirley) both of Montgomery, Alabama; one niece, three nephews, and a host of cousins and friends.
