Melissa Marie “Missy” Summers, 29, of Taneytown died Friday, January 18, 2013 at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster. Born August 21, 1983 in Olney, she was the daughter of Thomas W. Abrecht, Sr. and wife, Phyllis of Frederick and Kathryne A. Carter of Hamblem, TN. She was the wife of Robert E. Summers, Jr.
Missy was a graduate of Walkersville High School, class of 2000.
Surviving in addition to her parents and husband are children, Hayley and Zachary Summers of home; brothers, Thomas Abrecht, Jr. and fiancé, Kristin Milihram of Sharpsburg, and Charles Carter of Hamblem, TN; sister, Stephanie Carter of Woodsboro; step-brother, Jesse Lee Burris, Jr. and wife, Belinda, of Walkersville; step-sister, Casey Marie Kline and husband, Dennis, of Frederick; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Sharon Summers of Taneytown; maternal grandparents, Walter Carter of WV, and Evelyn Burton of Hamblem, TN; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by paternal grandparents, Frank and Mary Abrecht.
