Melissa Renee Ritchie of Birmingham, AL died on May 14, 2011. Through the gift of adoption, Melissa became the daughter of Mark Ritchie and Susan Ritchie Robertson on January 18, 1986 in Orlando, FL. Since that time Melissa’s family has grown to include two more parents Rev. Herb Robertson and Cindy Ritchie, two sisters Kristina Robertson and Sarah Robertson, two brothers Zachary Robertson (Sherie) and Alex Moore, and a very special “best friend” Braden Ritchie Robertson. Being in a blended family gave Melissa an extra blessing of grandparents. She is preceded in death by her grandparents William and Connie Ritchie of Orlando, FL and Bill and Martha Fleming of Apopka, FL. Her surviving grandparents are Jim Sutphin of Melbourne, FL; Doug and Vera Robertson of Weaver, AL and Wayne and Gail Bailey of Highland Lake, AL. Melissa will be remembered in a worship service at Springville First United Methodist Church on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at 7:00 PM. Her family will greet visitors in the church sanctuary beginning at 5:30 PM.
