Melissa Pugh Law, a resident of the Whatley community, traded time for eternity on Saturday, April 30, 2022, while at Providence Hospital in Mobile. Melissa was born on Dec. 19, 1969 to Voncile Pugh and Curtis Hicks Sr. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Whatley. Melissa loved fishing, that was her great passion. Her pride and joy was her granddaughter, whom she loved and cared about dearly. She also enjoyed cooking, grilling , and she loved going fishing as well as helping anybody she could. She was known for cutting grass and was a jack of all trades.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her son, Kelvin Pugh; sister, Valerie Pugh; aunts, Arlene, Ora, Dee, Bonnie Jean and Elise; and uncles, James Alvin, Jimmie Lee, Herman Miller, Willie Lee, Johnny and Tommie Earl Pugh.
Left to cherish her memories are her loving daughters, Melicha Law of Jackson and Charity Law of Whatley; two grandchildren, I’yana Dean and Chanze Moody; one brother , Curtis Hicks Jr. of Whatley; three aunts, Pearl Rankins, Marion (Elbert) James and Mamie Pugh; and two great aunts, uncle, Larry (Bessie) Pugh, all of Whatley; many devoted loved ones and friends.
