Melissa S. “Missy” Durflinger, age 46, of Remington, Indiana passed away on January 1, 2018, at White Oak Health Campus in Monticello, Indiana.
She was born in Rensselaer, Indiana on February 5, 1971, the daughter of Greg Walden and Susan (Bauer) Winn. Missy had worked at DuPont in Remington and formerly at Donaldson’s in Rensselaer. She was a member of the Rensselaer VFW Women’s Auxiliary and was an avid fisherman. Her greatest joy was being with her family and caring for her grandchildren.
Missy will be missed by her loving family, father, Greg (Kimberly) Walden of Monticello, IN; mother, Susan Winn of Remington, IN; her children Ricky (Kristina) Durflinger of Lake Village, IN, Ann (Brett) Loveely, Heidi Durflinger and Lydia Durflinger, all of Mt. Ayr, IN; grandchildren, Ryan, Ricky III, Emma and Adeline; brother, Joe (Tammy) Walden of Brookston, IN and sister, Michelle Pollard of Brazil, IN; step-sister, Ashley (significant other Greg Cavanaugh) Manns of Brook, IN; paternal grandmother, Wilma Hornbeck of Rensselaer, IN; nieces and nephews, Courtney, David, Brody, Bryce and Cole Walden, Blake and Olivia Cavanaugh and Jace O’Neil and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Roy and Delores Schleichert, paternal grandfather, Bill Walden and paternal step-grandfather, Don Hornbeck.
