Melissa Millen, 86 of Greensburg, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, September 11, 2021. She was born April 24, 1935 in Norwich, CT, a daughter of the late Richard and Mary (Martin) Oat. Melissa was a strong, hard-working and creative woman. She cared about others and always offered her love and support. Melissa married Robert G. Bleibtrey in 1954. They moved to Greensburg, PA in 1964. While raising six children she found time to enjoy serving in the Greensburg Garden and Shogan Plan Settlers’ Clubs with many fun neighborhood get-togethers over the years. In 1969 the Bleibtreys purchased the Point Grill in Greensburg and became tavern owners. Melissa was head cook preparing delicious sandwiches including Connecticut “grinders”, which she introduced to the area. “Bob” Bleibtrey died due to a tragic auto accident in 1979. The family continued to run the Point Grill for many years. Melissa married R. Philip Millen in 1981. Together they built the Midway Car Wash along Route 119 between Greensburg and Youngwood. She enjoyed traveling, golfing and socializing with Phil until he passed away in 2003. A talented needlepoint and crochet artist, Melissa won several awards at the Westmoreland Fair including Best of Show. She had a lifelong love of the ocean and loved spending warm summer days by the pool she and Phil Millen built at her Greensburg home. Surviving are sisters, MaryLou (Bernie) Shanley; and Helen (Doug) Newton; a brother, Richard Oat; her children, Lynn Lotinsky; Mark (Kathy) Bleibtrey; Jill (Mark) Jackson; Rob (Sandy) Bleibtrey; Jeff Bleibtrey and son Owen; Kurt (Gail) Bleibtrey; stepdaughter, Vicki (Charlie) Beuten and Rick Millen and many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
