Melissa Lynn Meeks Rhodes, 43, died Tuesday, January 1, 2019. Melissa was born August 29, 1975 in Greensboro, Georgia to Betty Jane “Janie” Kemp Meeks and Larry Elliott Meeks, Sr. of Greensboro, Georgia and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Greene Taliaferro County High School. At the time of her death she was driving the school bus for the Greene County Board of Education, worked for Transportation Period in sales and was the owner of Mel’s Cleaning. Melissa was an avid fisherman and enjoyed rides on dirt roads. She was a hard worker, always had a smile and loved her family.
She is survived by her mother and father, Janie and Larry Meeks of Greensboro, Georgia; three daughters, Haley Alyssa Golson, Heather Michelle Golson and Heidi Miranda Golson all of Greensboro, Georgia; sister, Jessica Dawn Meeks; two brothers, Randy Lee Meeks and Larry Elliott Meeks, Jr.; a grandson, Axel Zane Stafford; and numerous other relatives and friends.
