Melinda Fixx Jones passed away suddenly in her sleep on August 4, 2018.

She was born on September 8, 1969 in Florence, Arizona to loving parents, Ralph and Virginia Fixx and was the youngest of three girls. She is survived by her loving husband Christopher, her adoring son Mitchell, her mother Virginia, sisters Carolyn (Jim) their daughter Melissa and Loretta (Dennis) their daughter Elizabeth; her mother-in law Marty, sister-in law Edyie, many relatives In Virginia, and friends and co-workers in Arizona.

Melinda graduated from Trevor G. Brown High School in ‘87 in Phoenix and went on to graduate with honors at Arizona State University West with a Bachelor’s Degree in 2006.

In Melinda’s younger years, she liked to follow alongside her father at the truck pulls he raced in. When she turned sixteen she wanted to follow into her father’s footsteps and try racing herself. This lead to her competing with her father at the Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum, where she appeared on ESPN.

Later in life her passions were writing, music, the AZ Cardinals, and her family. In her career, in addition to writing for various architectural and engineering firms, she was a regular writer for Portraits Magazine (a Southern Baptist Publication) and AZBEX online publication (a land development publication). At home she shared her love for music with her son as they would sing together constantly. She also shared her love for the Cardinals with everyone. She was a former season ticket holder and regularly attended the Cardinals 101 annual event with her sister in-law to meet the players and coaches and run through the various drills. She was also proud to say that she attended Super Bowl XLIII with her husband to watch her Cardinals.

Before she passed she was a Senior Marketing Coordinator at Cardno, Inc. and a Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM). She was very active in her professional organizations American Public Works Association (APWA), and the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS).
