Melinda Denise Reed was born February 16, 1973 in Brooklyn, NY to Melvin Reed and Debra Martin Luckie. She departed this life on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at Decatur Morgan Hospital-Decatur General Campus in Decatur, AL.
Melinda accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and joined Jerusalem P.B. Church in Belle Mina, AL. She later attended and worshipped with Calvary Assembly of God.
Melinda had a smile that would light up a room and a heart of gold. She was very direct and never intentionally hurt anyone with her words, she simply meant what she said. She loved her children and would go to battle for them. She was a mother that provided for her children even when her health was not the best. We will miss her infectious smile and hugs.
Melinda was a graduate of Austin High School Class of 1992.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Nora B. Hatton, Bernard and Mary Martin.
Left to cherish her memory are: her children, Sadori Reed, Kaleb Reynolds, Roderick Reynolds Jr. all of Decatur; her loving parents, Melvin (Brenda) Reed and Debra (Jimmie) Luckie both of Decatur; one loving sister, Krishell Tapscott of Decatur; grandparents, Lindsey B. Hatton of Decatur and Bernice Keebler of Selma; three special nephews, Khai Reed, Kahlil Reed and Kiyan Tapscott all of Decatur and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
