Mr. Melbourne Poli Sheahan, age 52, of Milford, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2009, due to a short illness. Melbourne was one of five children born to the late Walter Poli Sheahan and the former late Marie Merwin Sheahan of Milford. He is survived by his siblings, Marlene S. Berberian of Hingham, MA, Allison Merwin Poli Sheahan of West Haven, Walter Poli Sheahan Jr. of Milford, and Miles Merwin Sheahan of Pompano Beach, FL. His daughter Julia Sheahan of Ridgefield, CT, also survives him. Mel was a certified welder with the New England Iron Works of Hamden, CT for many years, and later excelled as an independent Carpenter by trade. His passing on All Saints Day will comfort us all in knowing that he will surely not only be welcomed into the gates of heaven, but also into the open arms of his loving parents. All those who were fortunate to have known and loved him will miss Mel’s good, kind and selfless soul.
