Melba Lois Haney, age 83, of Centralia, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Fireside House in Centralia. Melba was born December 10, 1934 in Centralia, the daughter of Ridgeway Wilderman and Viva (Reynolds) Wilderman.

She married Dean Haney on January 10, 1952 in Centralia and he survives her in Centralia. In addition to her husband of 66 years, she is survived by one son: Danny Haney of Columbia, IL; one granddaughter Christy Bryson and husband Wes of Covington, TN; two great grandchildren; one brother: Myron Wilderman and wife Alexa of Lake Placid, FL; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Melba was preceded in death by her parents Ridgeway and Viva Wilderman, and a half sister Bonnie Jean (Wilderman) Duggins.

In 1952 she married Dean and after marriage they lived for short periods in New London, Conneticut/Philadelphia Pennsylvania and Key West, FL before settling down in Centralia. She attended both grade and highschool in Centralia and later took classes at KC. First and foremost Melba was a loving wife and mother, she also was a Certified Dental Assistant and an accomplished seamstress. For many years she was a Pink Lady at St. Mary’s Hospital. Melba had many different interests over the years but, sewing was her biggest passion and hobby. While she was still at home she had a constant companion in her little dog Sunshine.
