Those left to honor Melba’s memory are her husband, Robert Leroy Halferty of Newton; daughter, Roberta Jean (Jerry) Mathis of Lake City, Florida; her 5 sons, James Brent Halferty of Newton, Roy Alan (Kendra D.) Halferty of Newton, Timothy Roy (Sharon) Halferty of Newton, Daneil Cleal (Kim) Halferty of Colo, Iowa, and John Robert (Kendra L.) Halferty of Colfax, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; her 16 great-grandchidlren; brother, Brent Davis of Mt. View, Wyoming; and her sister, Jean (John) Schnauber of Rock Springs, Wyoming.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleal and Vera (Harvey) Davis and sister, Lois McConnell.
Melba was a graduate of Mt. View High School in Mt. View, Wyoming. she worked as a order processor for Newton Manufacturing for 23 years, retiring in 1988.
She enjoyed traveling, collecting Avon and cardinals, geneology, crossword puzzles, and playing organ.
