Melba Anne Duncan Crittenden, 80, of Smyrna Georgia, passed away on October 6th 2019 peacefully in her sleep.

Melba was born in Newnan, Georgia to Roy Cyril Duncan and Clara Helton Duncan on July 9th, 1939. She went to Newnan High school with the class of 1957. Many of her most treasured memories came from her time with her friends during those high school years. Her senior year she was best known for being crowned “Miss Newnan High.” She also attended Lander College shortly after graduating from high school. She worked at UPS and later became flight stewardess for United Airlines for many years. Though Melba was a sufferer of Erythromelalgia (man on fire syndrome) she found joy in many things. She loved going to the Smryna library, reading any good book, crossword puzzles, yoga, Georgia Tech Football & Basketball, & her favorite of all, cats. Melba made a tradition of traveling when she felt able to Destin Florida to visit her family and enjoy the emerald waters & was able to enjoy a monthlong trip to Montana where her oldest son resides to take in the majestic beauty that is Big Sky Country.

Melba is preceded in death by her parents, Roy Cyril Duncan and Clara Helton Duncan along with her only brother, Windell Lewis Duncan whom she cherished.

Melba is survived by her two sons, Wade and his wife Marie Crittenden of Cascade, Montana, and Duncan and his wife Grace Crittenden of Freeport, Florida. She is also survived by her six loving grandchildren Josh Crittenden, Sam Crittenden , Kaitlyn Green, Brittany Mason, Mia Bennett, and Duncan Crittenden II.
