Melanie Carol Isham, beloved daughter, wife, Mother, sister and friend, passed away on Tuesday, September14, 2010 at age 28. Born January 31, 1982 in Plant City, Florida, she relocated to San Antonio, Texas in 2001. Melanie is survived by her husband, Brent Isham, daughters Abigal and Eden; Mother, Carol Bennett; Father, Gary Stratton and step-mother Joellen Stratton; Paternal Grandmother, Nell Stratton; Step Father, Lester Bennett, Jr.; Sisters, Stacie Bennett, Brandi Page, Jessica Holmes; Brother, Cody Stratton; and a host of family and friends who loved her dearly. A life taken too soon, Melanie was known to all who loved her to be a gentle spirit –spreading love as warm as a gentle breeze on every life she touched. While Melanie was proud of almost being done with her college education, she would have considered her crowning achievement to be her family. She and Brent, the love of her life, bought a house, made it a home and then breathed life into that home with the birth of Abigal and Eden. It will be the commitment of everyone who loved Melanie to support Brent in furthering the foundation that Melanie and he began together, building memories for Abigal and Eden of their precious Mother. In Exodus 23:20 it says, “Behold, I send an angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared.” Melanie was blessed to be greeted at Heaven”s gates by many who loved her and were influential in molding her life. She was welcomed by Grandfathers Ed Barnwell, Lewis Raulerson, Ray Stratton, Ellis Mears, John Cupit; Grandmothers Martha Barnwell and Joann Cupit; Great Grandmothers LaNora Raulerson, Mae Raulerson, Maude Herron; and Aunts Willa Davis and Louise Hull. While those of us left behind will miss her sorely, we rejoice for those gone before her as they welcomed her to her eternal home.
