Megan Christina Church, of Lansing, died on Friday, February 23, 2024 after a long battle with depression and anxiety.Megan was born on April 29, 1990 in St. Johns, Michigan, the youngest of two children born to Steve and Sharon (Schomisch) Bassette. Megan attended St. Johns and Ovid/Elsie schools and settled in Lansing.Megan was thoughtful and soft-hearted, always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need and putting others needs before her own. She was serious when needed, smart beyond her years, had a great sense of humor and a free spirit.Megan was a beacon of creativity and dedication. She was a talented artist who loved to paint and draw, enjoyed crafting, web design, helping run elections, and was the proud owner of her own business, Urban Lavender. She grew lavender, made hand-crafted lavender-based bath products, attended festivals, won a startup competition, was featured in a news interview. Her goal was to promote mental self-care, be a beacon of support to the community, empower mothers and inspire entrepreneurs.Above all else, Megan was an active and loving mother to Wyatt and Memphis. She loved and cherished her boys more than anything in the world.She is survived by her two beloved sons, Wyatt Harrison Donnelly-Church and Memphis James “MJ” Church; her parents, Sharon and Steve Bassette; her brother, Steve (Nicole) Bassette Jr.; nephews, Adam Keith and Noah Nicolas; her grandmother, Helene (the late Bill) Delosh, as well as many aunts, uncles, great aunts and uncles, cousins and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lester and Rosie Schomisch, Bill Delosh and Keith Bassette.
