Maxine (Ludington) Kinder Quick, 93, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri formerly of Centralia, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at Ratliff Care Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She was born June 24, 1926 in Kirkwood, Illinois, daughter of John Ludington and Ellen Mae (Robins) Ludington. Maxine married Marion Kinder in August of 1946 and he preceded her in death on April 3, 1951.
She married Claud Quick on July 4, 1954 and he preceded her in death in October of 1986. Maxine is survived by two children: Pamela (Kinder) Brown and husband John of Cape Girardeau, Missouri and Rick Kinder and wife Donna of Sevierville, Tennessee; eleven grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; two brothers: Francis Ludington and wife Loretta of Arizona and Donald Ludington of Silver City, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents, her late husbands: Marion Kinder and Claud T. Quick, a daughter: Tomi Baldridge and a son: Steve Kinder.
Maxine worked as a bookkeeper and secretary for HESCO Mobile Power Units and North Wamac Grade School. She also worked as a clerk at several Casey’s Convenient Stores. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi. Maxine was a lifetime member of the Centralia V.F.W. Auxillary, The Red Hat Ladies and the Business Professional Women. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Centralia, where she was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church Alter Society and Catholic Daughters of America. Maxine was a gifted seamstress, she enjoyed gardening and loved the special times with her family.
