Maxine Pokorney Age 94 of Owosso passed away Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Shiawassee County Medical Care Facility-Pleasant View.Graveside Service will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Maxine was born December 4, 1923 in Lansing, the daughter of Robert and Ethel (Hayes) Oliver.She was a member of First Church of Christ and enjoyed puzzles and playing bingo. Most of all, Maxine looked forward to traveling and time spent with family and friends.She married Jerry Pokorney in Corunna on May 22, 1948; he predeceased her on April 17, 1978.Maxine was employed through the years at Benny’s Donut as a cashier and baker and Walmart as a greeter.Maxine is survived by children, Doug (Linda) Spiece, John (Janet) Pokorney, Sharon Reuther and Joseph (Terri) Pokorney; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was dearly loved by all.She was predeceased by her husband, Jerry J. Pokorney; daughter Joyce Sparck and son Jim Spiece.Memorial contributions are suggested to the Shiawassee County Humane Society.
