ZIMMER, Maximillian Ervin, Jr., passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at the age of 89. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of more than 65 years, Dorothy F. Zimmer, and survived by three sons, Maximillian E. Zimmer, III, husband of Annette Arceneaux Zimmer, Craig A. Zimmer, husband of Charleen Hickman Zimmer, and Keith C. Zimmer, husband of Debbie Gros Zimmer. Max is the grandfather of Mary Erica Zimmer, Maximillian E. Zimmer, IV, Christine Ann Zimmer Guilbeau, wife of Justin Guilbeau, Courtney Ann Zimmer, Kellie Christine Zimmer, the late Craig Anthony Zimmer, Jr., and great grandfather of Laynie Ann Guilbeau and Grant Michael Guilbeau. He is also survived by many more relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julia Lusse Zimmer and Maximillian E. Zimmer, Sr. Max was a native and lifelong resident of New Orleans, a parishioner and former member of St. Maria Goretti Choir, a veteran of the United States Navy who served during World War II and the Korean War, retired staff manager at South Central Bell Telephone Company, former State President and Regional President of the South Central Bell Telephone Pioneers, former President of the Springlake Homeowners Association, and a former member of the Good Timers Carnival Club. He was also Past Grand Knight of the St. Simon Peter Council, Knights of Columbus, 3rd Degree, and member of the Bienville Assembly, Knights of Columbus Council, 4th Degree.

Max was always full of life and good humor. He loved his home and enjoyed history, traveling, and storytelling.
