Pastor Maxie Denton Bolden Sr, was born on October 13 th ,1947 in Indianapolis, Indiana to
Clarence D Bolden Sr, and Clara B Gray, both precedes him in death. He transitioned from labor to reward on Sunday January 17 th 2021 at the
age of 73.
Maxie was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. Maxie attended Indianapolis Public # 36, and #37 and Arsenal Technical High School.
Maxie was a member for 7 yrs.
relocated to Gary, Indiana and served as Minister/Adjutant under the leadership of Bishop T.L.
During this time Maxie worked at the U.S. Steel Mill in Gary, Indiana, and met and married in 1980 his wife of 40 years Nettie Jean McPherson-
Bolden. Maxie retired from the U.S. Steel Mill in 1990.
Maxie moved to San Bernardino, CA where he came out of retirement when he was offered a position as a Logistic Manger for 10 yrs. at the
Target Corp. Maxie continued his spiritual journey and was ordained into the ministry at Shirley Cole Ministry under the leadership of Pastor
Shirley Cole, San Bernardino, CA.
Dunamis Power Christian Fellowship San Bernardino, CA under the leadership of Pastor Warren White where he served as a minister. Maxie
moved to Las Vegas Nevada in 2015 and worked for Golden Entertainment.
Maxie was the life of the party, a happy person, he would always find a way to make you laugh, his sense of humor was the greatest. No
matter who you were he would figure out a way to make you laugh. Some referred to him as “George Jefferson” in his younger days, and as he
got older, he was the light skinned “Mr. Brown”. Maxie was determined to follow his dream, and as he would often say, “Live Life to The
Fullest”. Maxie was the “King of the Grill” he loved to barbecue, and would always take his time and make sure that the meat was cooked just
right, and top his ribs with his special sauce.
Maxie loved to sing, and he also had opportunity to pursue his dream in the entertainment industry. Maxie graduated from San Bernardino
Community College of the Arts and Entertainment. Maxie was in the screen play “Shakespeare” that was seen by many students in the
California area. Maxie also had a starring role in a play, “Cutting Corners”, which featured Al Wilson singer of (Show and Tell). Maxie had the
natural talent of a comedy; he really knew how to make you laugh. Maxie will be missed for his fun-loving ways, and congenial spirit, his knack
for fashion, throwing on his rags and enjoying the finer things in life.
Maxie is preceded in death by his daughter Marletta Devon Bolden, Second Mother Mildred Bolden, Sister Collesta Bolden Second Father Joe
Anderson Sr. step-son Joe McPherson Sr., two grand-daughter’s Janae Bolden, Kayla Goggins, one brother Willie L. Anderson Sr.
Maxie leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Nettie Jean Bolden, one son Maxie D. Bolden Jr (Brenda) two daughters, Michelle D Bolden,
Alicia Bolden-Goggins. Two Step-daughters Johnetta Maxwell, and Maxine Roche (Teddy). Siblings five brothers Clarence Bolden Jr (Priscilla),
Clyde Bolden (Kimberly), Joe Anderson Jr. (Minnie) Damond Anderson Sr (Susan), Joseph Anderson Sr. Five Sisters Collen Bolden-Smith
(Ric), Joanna Anderson- Stuart, Dorothy Anderson- Dodd, Ethel Anderson -Smith, Terri Anderson. 13-Grandchildren-Maxie III, Samaria,
Courtney (Carl), Kiera, Deshaun, Turquoise, Robert, Nacona, Sidney, and Ayana, Trunnis III, Alexis, Tatiana. 22 Great-grandchildren. A host of
nieces, nephew’s relatives and friends.
