Max Eugene Bingman passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, November 26, 2017, at the age of 90. Born on February 4, 1927, in Pomeroy, Washington, to George and May Bingman, Max was raised on a farm outside Moscow and attended school in a one-room country schoolhouse. In 1945, he graduated from Moscow High School, was drafted into the Army, and reported for duty at Fort Lewis, Washington. He served two years during WWII, attaining the rank of Sergeant. While stationed at Ft. Hahn and later the Presidio in San Francisco, he was an orderly to the Surgeon General Unit, also known as the Hospital Train.
