Muncie-Max A. Ailes Sr., 77, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at the Woodlands Health Care Center following an extended illness. He was born on June 26, 1936 in Gaston, the son of Alonzo Wilson and Bula (McKibben) Ailes.
Mr. Ailes is a 1957 graduate of Eaton High School and attended Ball State University for one year. Max married the love of his life, Sandra (Wilson) Ailes on March 29, 1958, in Yorktown, and she survives.
Besides his wife of 56 years, Sandra, he is survived by three sons, Michael Joe Ailes (wife-Margaret) and Chris Allen Ailes (wife-Rose Mary), both of Muncie and Timothy Ailes (wife-Carman), Albany; one daughter, Kathy Burns (husband-Bill), Muncie; one daughter-in-law, Arden Ailes, Muncie; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one sister, Jo Ann Foreman (husband-Bob), Muncie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Max A. Ailes Jr. in 2012; one grandson, Jacob Ailes in 2009;
one sister, Jacqueline Vance in 2009.
