Fresno, California – Maurine D. Lowe was born in Sebastopol, California on March 14th, 1909. As a child, her family moved to Greenfield, Indiana.

Upon her graduation from Indiana University, she married Robert E. Lowe. They moved to Anderson where they were both active in the community. Many people in Anderson learned the fine art of knitting from Maurine. Her greatest enjoyment was serving as a Pink Lady at Community Hospital where she volunteered for 23 years. She and her husband will be remembered for the wonderful holiday beauty they brought each year to The First Methodist Church altar. This was artistic labor of devotion they both gave graciously for many years. Bloomington called to her and she took up residency in Meadow Wood, enjoying all that I.U. had to offer. Her last 10 years were spent in Fresno, California, close to family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years. She is survived by her children Pam Burt of Fresno, California, and Chuck Lowe of Dayton, Ohio; 5 grandsons, Rob, Chad & Justin Lowe, Gregory & Brian Burt; 4 great-grandsons, Matthew & John Owen Lowe, Brandon & Ryan Burt.
