Maurice was born on July 22, 1947 in Seaford, DE to the late John B. and Gertrude Cook.
Maurice started his education in Georgia, where his father was stationed in the Army and he finished in the Bridgeville School District.
He was a dedicated worker for Townsend of Millsboro, DE where he retired after more than 20 years. He enjoyed working on lawn mowers and just sitting around talking to the guys.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Gertrude (Cannon) Cook and his father, John B. Cook and a host of aunts, cousins and friends.
Maurice leaves to remember him, his son, Keith Brown (Veronica) of Camden, DE, two grandchildren; Keith Brown Jr. (Brandy) and Taylor Brown of Camden, DE, three sisters; Myrna Frisby of Blades, DE, Vanessa Powell (Ernest) of Millsboro, DE, Johnetta Brown of Seaford, DE, three brothers; Gary Cannon of Seaford, DE, John B. Cook Jr. of Kileen, TX, Layfield Sampson of Bridgeville, DE, five step-children; Teresa Joynes, Katina Joynes, Brenda Collins, Paula Farlow, and Debbie Farlow, a significant other, Loretta Joynes and a host of aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
