Lebanon: Maurice R. “Mick” Smith, 83, went home to be with the Lord, Friday afternoon at St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. He was born in Manson, Indiana, the son of the late Lawrence and Blanche (Howe) Smith. He graduated from Colfax High School in 1946.
Mr. Smith married Barbara Huffer on May 12, 1950, in Darlington and she survives. Mr. Smith was a 57 year member of Jefferson, Indiana Masonic Lodge. He was a past President of Breeders and Feeders Assoc. of Boone County and was on the ASC committee for several years. He was a well-known and respected farmer in his community and enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ronald [Judy] Camp, Frankfort, and Mrs. Michael (Carol) Moore, Lebanon; two granddaughters, Maurica J. Camp of New York City and Mrs. Steven [Meredith] Felty, of Frankfort; a brother, Herbert Smith, of South Carolina; and two sisters, Grace Jones and Betty Rich, both of Lebanon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers, Raymond, Fay, Roy, Carl, Omer, and Russell Smith, and three sisters, Daisy Moore, Mary McKinney and Helen Smith.
