Maurice H. Morin, age 88, of Naugatuck completed his Earthly life on March 19 2016, passing peacefully in his sleep at home, released from his time with cancer, lovingly cared for by his step-daughter, Linda Gray.
Mr. Morin was born April 5th, 1927 in Waterbury, only child of the late Cleophas Morin (born Brocton Quebec) and Ophelia (Cantin) Morin (born Black Lake Quebec), genealogy indicates his line can be traced back to Normandy in 1639 (then being Martin), with ancestors having lived in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Quebec and Berlin New Hampshire.
Maurice proudly served in the U.S. Navy in World War II as an electronic technician, later having an accomplished career with the Bristol Babcock Company for 25 years until his retirement, progressing from a bench technician to account specialist. He was a long time audiophile finding great joy in music.
He is survived by his loving wife Nancy Fay (Smith) Morin, his son: Gary J. Morin of Waterbury, two step-children: Diane Rioux of Meriden and Linda Gray of South Carolina, two step-grandchildren: Keith Fredrickson and Fayth Rioux and daughter-in-law: Linda Rioux and was predeceased by his step-son Arthur Rioux. He was also blessed to have two wonderful Neighbors: Kurt Johanson and family and Paul Shupenis and family whom he was proud and honored to know.
