Maureen Lee Cooper, “Moe”, 56, passed away December 21, 2012 in Canon City, CO. She was born to Leo James and Nova Lee Hudson on September 4, 1956 in Pueblo, CO, the youngest of six children. Her childhood years were spent traveling with her father, a member of the United States Air Force, to Tachakawa Airfield, Japan; Johnson AB, Japan, Sheppard AFB, TX, and Tyndall AFB, FL before the family settled in Canon City. Moe graduated from Canon City High School in 1974, where she had been an active participant in the CCHS marching band on the clarinet. Maureen spent 31 years working as a Dispatcher for the Colorado State Patrol. In addition, she volunteered countless hours supporting the Boy Scouts of America Troop 121, supporting the CCHS Wrestling team as unofficial “Team Mom” and videographer, as well as acting as a “Mom Away From Home” for many Cadets of the United States Air Force Academy. Moe is survived by her two sons, Richard Allen Cooper, Staff Sergeant, and Andrew Lee Cooper, First Lieutenant, both serving in the United States Air Force. She is also survived by her mother, Nova Lee Hudson; brothers, Leo James Hudson Jr., Michael Hudson, John Hudson, and Patrick Hudson; and sister, Patricia Hudson-Sommers. She was preceded in death by her father, Leo James Hudson, Sr.
