Maureen French Harty, age 63, of Shelton, died May 18, 2006 at St. Vincent’s Medical Center with her loving family by her side. Beloved wife of John M. Harty, Maureen was born in Bridgeport, CT to the late

As an angel on earth Maureen doted on her daughters, cherished her grandchildren and served as an anchor for her sisters and brother. She now takes her place among the guardian angels she used to send to watch over each of them. In addition to her husband Jack she is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law, K. Lee and Mark Bishop of Seymour, Erin and Brian Rafferty of Shelton and Maureen Harty and Anthony Pitagora of Trumbull; six grandchildren, Michael Bishop, Melissa Rafferty, Kelly Bishop, Allison Rafferty, Daniel Pitagora and Thomas Pitagora; her five sisters, Irene Kollar and her husband, Albert of Stratford, Geraldine Ellis of Milford, Margaret (Peggy) French of Derby, Helene Yurasek and her husband, Michael of Shelton, Mary Beth Novotnak and her husband, David of Shelton, and her brother, George H. French IV and his wife, Anita of Derby; sister-in-law, Katherine Spodnick and her husband, Frank of Stratford; brother-in-law James D. Harty and his wife, Margaret of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, an aunt, many nieces, nephews, cousins and very dear friends.
