Maureen Ann (Bailey) Lang of Plainville, CT, beloved mother, grandmother and friend passed into eternal rest on Friday, March 9th at Hartford Hospital. Born in New Britain, CT the daughter of the late Daniel and Sarah (Sadie) Bailey, she grew up in New Britain and graduated from New Britain High School. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert F. Lang.  Always there for her children, Nancy Buden and her husband Michael of Bristol, and her son, Robert Lang of Plainville, she was happiest when she could be laughing or sharing a good story. A loving Grandmother to Amy Lang and Dr. Adam Lang, both formerly from West Hartford and now residing in New Jersey, she was proud to tell everyone of their outstanding accomplishments. The spirit of her sparkling blue eyes and sincere kindness for all she met were truly captured in one of her favorite songs “When Irish Eyes Are Smiling”. Her talents for helping people and making friends wherever she went gave her great joy. The most rewarding times in the working world came during her years as a daycare teacher working with preschool children, many from underprivileged families. Her natural ability to assist others and her Irish gift of gab later made her an outstanding sales associate at Harvey’s women’s wear store. While she endured many health issues throughout her life, she always managed to bounce back and maintain a positive attitude until a stroke finally gave her a challenge she could not overcome. She is survived by her sister Jean Martin of Plainville, brother Daniel Bailey and his wife Carmella of Bristol, Sister Patricia Shine and husband Matthew of Bristol and her sister Sally Trace and her husband Thomas of Georgia. She was predeceased by her brothers Edward Bailey and Robert Bailey. Her extended family includes several nieces and nephews.
