Maudie Miller Oliphant, age 91, of Oxford, passed away peacefully in her home Friday, January 24, 2020..M….Born October 24, 1928 in Vaiden, MS to the late Odie and Annie Mae Ramage Miller, Maudie lived a full and joyous Christian life. She was a faithful member of the Friendship Sunday School class at First Baptist Church, Oxford, for many years. She served in the Eastern Star for 50 plus years and was an officer of the Red Hat Society. She was a Girl Scout leader for many years, volunteered as a hospital Pink Lady, hosted and participated in the Priscilla Rook Club, and played on a bowling league where she won many trophies. She was an accomplished seamstress and proficient with needle work and artistic with ceramics. Maudie was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend. She loved her family. She has now received her greatest gift in life and has gone to her heavenly home. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd G..Mrs. Oliphant is survived by a son, Lloyd Nolan Oliphant and his wife, Donna, of Oxford, MS; two daughters, Diane Oliphant of Oxford, MS and Jan Laliberty and her husband, Bob, of Pensacola, FL; seven grandchildren, Sallie Oliphant of Little Rock, AR, Elizabeth Oliphant of Albuquerque, NM, Leslie Claire Howell of Mobile, AL, Jay Howell of Pensacola, FL, Craig Oliphant of Los Angeles, CA, Tammy Black of McCool, MS and Ray Holden, Jr… Oliphant’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (Mississippi Chapter), 207 West Jackson Street, Ridgeland, MS 39157 or the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231.
