Maud Marie Young of Hebron, NE the daughter of Frank and Cora (Warner) Trumble was born September 23, 1908 in Belvidere, NE. She departed this life Wednesday March 14, 2012 at Blue Valley Lutheran Nursing Home in Hebron, NE at the age of 103 years.
Maud grew up and attended school in the Belvidere area graduating from Belvidere High School with the class of 1925. She received her Normal Training and taught school four years between Belvidere and Hubbell, NE. She married Hugh Young December 24, 1926 at the United Church of Christ in Belvidere, NE. This marriage was blessed with the birth of her son Michael. Maud went to work at the Belvidere Post Office and was the postmistress for 33 years. After retiring Maud remained living in her own home until she was 96 years old.
She was always proud that she won an adult spelling contest later in her life and the prize was a gold watch. She enjoyed watching sporting events with her family, playing card games like Upwords, gardening, working word puzzles, and reading.
