Matthew Thomson, 91, of Hazlet, NJ, passed away peacefully at his residence on Wednesday, December 15, 2021. He was born on December 13,1930 in Newark, New Jersey. He was raised in Hazlet Township, New Jersey where he settled and remained. He enjoyed a long career as a carpenter, builder, and retired as building subcode official for Manalapan Township in 2005. Matthew was a proud United States Navy Veteran who proudly served our country during the Korean Conflict. Matthew will be sadly missed and never forgotten.
Matthew is predeceased by his mother and father Robert and Sarah (Weaver) Thomson, his beloved wife, Gloria Regina (Smith) Thomson, his sister, Sarah Bayers, his brothers Robert Thomson and John Thomson. He is survived by his loving children Matthew J. Thomson of Keansburg, New Jersey, Gloria Regina Barreiro and her husband, Joseph of Florida, Barbara Nosti and her husband Michael of Holmdel, New Jersey, and David Thomson of Long Beach, California, his cherished grandchildren, Courtney Martino, Michael David Nosti, Corisa Barreiro, Kevin Nosti, Kayla Barreiro and Steven Nosti. Matthew is also survived by 5 treasured Great-grandchildren.
