Melone1958~2020Matthew “Matt” Melone, CPA, Esq., age 61, of Media PA passed away on July 7, in Philadelphia, PA in 1958, he was the beloved son of the late Catherine (nee Micale) and Ernest Melone.Survived by his adoring wife Annamarie (nee Lammendola); his precious children Kevin Melone and Mary Catherine Melone (Mary Kaye); his adored dog Nacho; his cherished brother Anthony Melone (Lauren); his beloved nephew Michael Melone and niece Lindsay Melone. Matt was a graduate of Central High School (1976), Villanova University (1980), and the University of Pennsylvania Law School (1993). After graduating from Villanova University he accepted an offer from the big 8 accounting firm, Ernst & Whinney, working as a Certified Public Accountant from 1980 to 1985. Matt then accepted the position of Controller for the private real estate developer and property manager, Kravco Company, where he worked until 1990. He then left Kravco to attend University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he graduated first in his class in 1993, leading to an offer to practice at the prestigious law firm of Morgan, Lewis, Bockius. However, Matt instead chose to pursue the fulfilling and rewarding career of Professor of Law at Lehigh University. His time at Lehigh spanned over the last 27 years, during which time he reached full professor status and in 2020 he received the MS in Management Teacher of Excellence award as voted by the students. Furthermore, Matt consulted for the Law Firm of Maloney, Danyi, and O’Donnell for the last 8 years in Bethlehem, coached St. Aloysius and Media Little League boy’s baseball and Haverford Hawks Ice Hockey for numerous years. He also served on the board of the St. Joseph’s Preparatory School Ice Hockey team. Matt was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, enjoyed scotch on the rocks, did everything and anything with his English Bulldog, Nacho, and wrote law articles for publication at various Law Schools around the was an incredible teacher, a caring and loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and was a great friend to everyone he met. He will be missed dearly.
