Our gentle giant, Matthew J. Reid, was called home too early following a valiant battle with severe health problems.
Matt was born July 18, 1970 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Terry K. Reid and Kathy Christensen Reid. He served a mission to the Brazil Fortaleza Mission and the California La Mirada Mission.
Matt loved to play sports and enjoyed coaching little league sports for many years. He loved to collect sports memorabilia and sports cards. He was an avid Utah Jazz and Pittsburg Steelers fan.
Matt was an amazing artist; he specialized in abstract art and built beautiful log furniture. Matt’s artwork was shown in various art galleries in Utah. Matt was a friend to all. He was kind, gentle, tender hearted and genuinely interested in people.
Matt is survived by his father Terry (Debbie) Reid; mother Kathy Christensen; his brother Chris (Maria) Reid; uncle Rick Reid, cousin Eric Reid; nieces and nephews Gabrielle, Sophia, Sadie Mae, Mac and Jake.
