Matthew Lee Bontrager, 33, of Elkhart, passed away Friday, July 5, 2013, at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born Nov. 25, 1979, in Goshen to Douglas E. Bontrager and Dawn L. (Demerly) Gray. On Dec. 13, 2003, he married Michelle (Atkinson) Bontrager in Elkhart.
In addition to his wife and mother, survivors include a brother, Sam Bontrager of Chesterton; mother and father-in-law Fawne and Tom Atkinson of Elkhart; and niece Leia Bontrager of Chesterton.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Matthew was a graduate of Concord High School. He was employed at AM General in Mishawaka for more than 13 years.
Matthew was known as a big man with an even bigger heart. He was a loving husband and a great doggie dad.
