Matthew Kenton Ames, age 33, of Fair Oaks, Indiana, passed away on July 28, 2021, in Newton County, IN. Matthew was born in Crown Point, IN on November 15, 1987, the son of Kenton and Tammy (Orsburn) Ames.
Matt graduated from North Newton High School with the Class of 2006 and then became a heavy equipment operator with the Local #150 Operating Engineers.
Matt was a member of the Prairie Lodge #125, F&AM. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, and rifle target shooting. Matt was one of the most hard-working individuals. He never hesitated to help anyone. His giving personality and genuine smile were his hallmark. He deeply cared about and loved his family and did his best to help and take care them, as well as others. He will truly be missed by his family and friends.
Matt is survived by his parents, Kenton and Tammy of Fair Oaks, IN; siblings, Nick (Nina) Bittick of Glenview, IL and Brett Ames of Hammond, IN; nephews, Mickey and Sam Bittick; niece, Annabel Bittick; and paternal grandmother, Vivian Ames.
