Matthew K. George, 37, of Washington, passed away at 2:58 pm, Saturday, August 20, 2022, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born on June 21, 1985, in Peoria, the son of Robbie and Paula Ripley George. His father, his stepfather Richard Burger, and his paternal and maternal grandparents preceded him in death.
Surviving is his mother of Washington, one aunt, Janet (Steve) Meyer of Bay View Gardens. Also surviving are three uncles Dennis Ripley of Cuba, IL, Danny (Joyce) Ripley of South Pekin, and Charles (Gale) George of East Peoria.
Born with Spina Bifida, his disabilities meant he was in a wheelchair for his entire life. He was his mom’s whole world and everything; Matthew touched the hearts of everyone he knew. Those who knew him best said he was a man with a vibrant personality who lived an active and happy life surrounded by people who loved him.
