Matt grew up in the small community of Erath, Louisiana and was well liked by his peers. He will be greatly remembered for his academic intelligence. He was very proud of his accomplishments and especially proud of his degree, that allowed him to become an IT technician. In his spare time, Matt loved using his creativity with his beautiful drawings and poetry and from teaching Zhi how to play checkers, to drawing with his goddaughters whom he loved to challenge to grow and think outside the box.

His greatest accomplishment before his passing was his successful completion of two years of sobriety. He was also pursuing his degree to become an addiction counselor, which he was most passionate about. Matt’s true heart was to help guide others to become sober. Matt can be remembered most for his words of encouragement.

He is survived by his father, Marcus Breaux I.; brothers, Marcus Breaux II and wife Kelly and Brett Morvant; sisters, Maegan Monteaux and husband Tyler, Tara Guy and Crystal Martin; his most beloved aunt, Sue Sons; along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Matt was preceded in death by his mother, Rita Champagne Breaux; uncle, Neal Sons; nonkie, Rayford Champagne; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
