Matt was bigger than life and so were his dreams. When Matt walked into a room, he owned it. He was always the life of the party and people loved to be in his presence. He was a selfless and generous person to all. He cherished his family and his relationships with friends so much. His friends were more than friends to Matt – they were family.

He was a true family man in every sense of the word. Daryl and Brooklyn were his world and he loved them to his very core. His marriage to Daryl was truly a fairy tale and he was a devoted father to his little girl, Brooklyn (and their two pups). Weekends were all about being together and doing things as a family.

His love for going to Disney and all things Disney made it his absolute favorite vacation destination. His favorite memory was when Brooklyn met Mickey for the first time.

Matt had an eye for fashion, too. From his amazing wardrobe of three-piece suits and bow ties, to his Ralph Lauren teddy bear sweaters and Nike sneakers, he always made a statement.

Matt loved to “hustle” and was a successful entrepreneur. He had ambitious goals and was determined to achieve them. He dreamed of one day having complete financial freedom and worked so hard to provide security for his family.  His ventures and hobbies included Epic Adventures in Real Estate, interior design and photography.  Matt was a once-in-a-lifetime kind of guy and will be dearly missed.

He was formerly the Vice President of Retail Banking at Newburyport Saving Bank. At the time of his death, he was employed at RTN Credit Union. Matt was an active member of the Merrimack Valley Chamber of Commerce and the recipient of the Chamber’s Emerging Leader Award. He was also the founder of the Chamber’s Next Generation of Leaders.

Matt is survived by his loving wife, Daryl, and daughter, Brooklyn. He is also survived by his mother and stepfather, Bill and Debra Bowmen, brother and sister, David and Sharon Martin, his very dear aunts, Hope and Steph Resendes, and Denise Thompson and her husband Bill and many cousins. Surviving members of Daryl’s family include his father-in-law, Roy Richardson and his wife Shirl, brother-in-law, Evan Richardson and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
