Matthew Alan York, age 33, of Covington, Kentucky, formerly of Sanford, Michigan, passed away early Friday morning, August 6, 2021, due to injuries from a motorcycle accident. He was the beloved son of Steven and Rebecca (Morse) York, born on February 27, 1988 in Saginaw. During his high school years he played running back for the Meridian High School football team. He graduated in May 2006 and went on to get his Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics from Central Michigan University.

He was employed as an SAP consultant for Sun Chemical and CNBS. He was also the founder and CEO of Queen City Buyer, a real estate investment firm that buys houses, repairs them and resells them. He created a “Giving Back” program to donate a portion of the profits from each house to a charity of the seller’s choice.

Matt enjoyed working out at the gym, snowboarding, wakeboarding, boating, playing cards, and practiced mixed martial arts, but most of all, Matt loved spending time with his son, family, and friends. During his lifetime, Matt traveled to Germany, China, and Mexico.

Matt will be dearly missed by his son, Oliver, and companion, Megan Anderson; father, Steven (Marge) York; mother, Rebecca (George) Haney; two brothers, Richard (Michaela) York and Andrew (Erica) York; grandmother, Jane York; uncles, Robert (Debra) York II; Kenneth (Pamela) Morse; aunts, Marie Payne, Linda Elliot; three nieces, Alyssa, Selena, and Adelaide; two nephews, Evander and Orion; several cousins, and many friends. Matt was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert E. York and Raymond and Nina Morse.
