Matilda M. Stellmacher, age 81 of Sanford, died Saturday morning June 28, 2014 at her residence. The daughter of the late Daniel T. and Hazel (Sorg) Green was born in Midland on June 25, 1933 where she was raised and educated.
Matilda had been employed with the Midland Public School until her retirement in 1989 after 20 years of service. She enjoyed bowling, knitting, crocheting and doing quilts, going camping, traveling and being with her grandchildren. On July 5, 1952 in Midland Matilda married David Stellmacher, Sr. He died on May 27, 2011.
Surviving is her son, David Stellmacher, Jr. of Midland; daughters, Hazel (Perry) Goldschmidt of Colorado, Helen Reynolds of Midland; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brothers, George Green of Hope, Robert Green of Midland. In addition to her parents,
Matilda was preceded in death by son, Daniel Stellmacher; daughter, Cathy Stellmacher; son-in-law, Thomas Reynolds.
