Haines City, Florida – Matilda M. Allmon, age 76, a former Guilford Lake resident, died at 2:35 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2013, t the St. Elizabeth Health Center in Boardman. She was born January 2, 1937, in Imperial, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Albert and Alice (Hayes) Ayers. Matilda attended both the Imperial High School and Southern Local Schools. She was Presbyterian by faith and served as a volunteer aid for the American Red Cross. Matilda was employed at the Manheim Auto Auction in Haines City for the last 15 years. She had also worked for 20 years as an inspector for the former Warren Molded Plastics, which is now Ventura Plastics. Her husband, James P. Allmon, whom she married in 1977, preceded her in death in 1979. She is survived by her former husband, Darrell A. Jackson; three sons, Darrell L. Jackson of New Middletown, Dennis Jackson of Winter Haven, Florida and John Rush of New Middletown; a daughter, Darla Guthrie of North Lima; six sisters, Mary Tackett of Florida, Florence Strimple of Florida, Wilma Binion of Florida, Marie Kaiser of Guilford Lake, Theresa Shutler and Alberta Calvin of Florida; 11 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
