Mateo Parra Sanchez, 69, a lifelong Deming resident passed away Sunday February 12, 2012 at Mountain View Medical Center in Las Cruces.
Mateo was born January 31, 1943 to Prudencia Parra and Silverio Sanchez in the Mimbres Valley but spent most of his life in Deming where he attended Deming Public Schools and St. Ann’s Catholic Church and for many years worked for the City of Deming, most recently as the foreman at Mountain View Cemetery. He loved spending time with family and friends and enjoyed many outdoor activities. He will be missed by all the people that life introduced to him and will always be kept in our hearts and memories.
He is survived by his loving wife, Martha Sanchez of the home; daughter, Sandra Nevarez and husband David; sons, Paul Sanchez and wife Lauree, Julian Sanchez and wife Christina and Matthew Sanchez and wife Rosanna all of Deming; grandchildren, Elexis Davalos, Cera, Amanda, Alexis, Stephanie & Xavier Sanchez, Isabella Collings, Miranda, Little Matthew & Jacob Sanchez; great-grandchildren, Isabel Grace & Daniel Jimenez Jr.
He was preceded in death by sister, Elvira Bravo and brother, Ruben Sanchez.
