Marye (Toronyi) Nash Kraemer, 100, a resident of West Hartford, CT for 59 years, passed away peacefully at Rocky Hill CT Veteran’s Home and Hospital with her immediate family present on Wednesday September 18, 2019. She was born on April 22, 1919 in Christopher, Illinois. A graduate in occupational therapy from Milwaukee Downer College (now Lawrence University), she also taught substitute classrooms in Hartford. After joining the WAAC in WWII, she received a seriously disabling injury as an ordinance technician at the Aberdeen Proving Ground, but recovered to be a wife, mother, and homemaker.
Marye was predeceased by her first husband Audrow Nash of West Hartford, Superintendent at Travelers Insurance Company, and subsequently Edward C. Kraemer, Jr., also from West Hartford and an attorney for Travelers. She is survived by her daughter Laura Nash and spouse of Cambridge MA, and her son Robert Audrow Nash of Washington, CT. She is also survived by four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Also by her stepson Raymond Kraemer and 3 step-grandchildren by his first daughter Karen Ann Daly (deceased).
