Mary E. Weigel, 91, of Three Oaks, Michigan died peacefully Monday morning, August 11, 2008 at her home.Mary was born November 16, 1916 in Three Oaks to Sylvester and Myrtle (Schmely) Payne. On January 12, 1934 she married Gerald A. DeMorrow in LaPorte, Indiana, he preceded her in death on December 29, 1961.
Mary and Gerald made their home in Lakeside, Michigan and enjoyed bowling at the lanes in Union Pier as they raised their four children. On December 19, 1964, she married Robert Weigel who preceded her in death on October 9, 1983. Mary and Robert lived on Acker Lake in Freemont, Michigan. She loved the lake in all its seasons. Mary was an Avon representative and enjoyed cooking, baking from scratch, and liked to shop in Michigan City. Survivors include her daughters, Rose Lee, New Carlisle, Indiana and Linda (Robert) Reitz of Three Oaks, 16 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren and her brother, William Payne of Three Oaks.
She was preceded in death by her son, Gerald E. DeMorrow , daughter, Valora “Lee” Turley and sisters, Alice Kettler and Arlene Lutes and brothers, Ed, Larry, Clifford, Russell and Ken Payne.
