Mary Lucille (Easton) Watson
Mary Lucille (Easton) Watson, 81, a long time resident of Cocoa, Florida, passed away in Wuesthoff Hospital, Rockledge, Florida, on Saturday, May 26, 2012. She was born in Spring Point Township, Illinois, on August 31, 1930, to Edna A. (McClain) and George W. Easton.
Mary grew up in Casey, Illinois, and graduated from Casey High School. On April 14, 1952, she married the love of her life, Hobart (Lee) Watson. Lee and Mary moved their family to Florida in 1960, to escape the cold winters. After a 30 year career with the National Aeronautics & Space Administration (NASA) at Kennedy Space Center, Mary retired in 1990. Mary enjoyed her family, crocheting, sewing, reading, and was an award winning porcelain artist. Her winning smile, generous spirit, beautiful singing voice, and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew her. Mary was a loving and supportive wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. Hers was a life well lived.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years and survived by two adoring daughters both of Cocoa, Cathy and husband Bruce Valentin, Caryn and husband Dana Antes; grandchildren Michael Antes and Ashlee Antes; step-grandchildren Robert Valentin, Kristin Valentin, and Stacy Antes; and brother George and wife Janice Easton of Hidalgo, Illinois.
