Mary Virginia Phelps, 75, of Brooklyn Park, passed away on April 12, 2019 peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. Mary was born to the late Roy M. and Alice (Asplen) Smith and she grew up in Curtis Bay. She married the love of her life Wilbert “Bob” C. Phelps, Jr. in 1960. Mary devoted herself to taking care of her family. She will be rememberd as a loving, protective, and strong willed mother. She enjoyed attending, horse races with her husband, weekly trips to the movies, BINGO, and trips to the Ocean.
She was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband; and grandson, James, III. She is survived by her children, Bonnie Queen (Jimmy), Russell Phelps, Ronald Phelps (Debra DiDonato), Loretta Swartz (Jim), Wilbert “Bobby” C. Phelps, III (Kathie Vecchioni), and Wendy Principio (Shane); grandchildren, Jimbo Queen, Arielle and Matthew Swartz, and Ronnie Phelps, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Jimmy and Wendy Queen.
