Mary Virginia Elliott-Jackson was born September 4, 1955 in Decatur, Alabama to the late Preston M. Elliott and the late Lillie Mae Bell Elliott. She departed this life on October 3, 2016 at Decatur Morgan Hospital- Decatur General Campus surrounded by loved ones.
Mary accepted Christ at an early age and was currently worshiping with WIN Outreach Ministries in Decatur. She attended schools in the Decatur City School System.
Mary was a very fun loving person. She was outspoken, opinionated, and a strict disciplinarian. Her hobbies included; walking, reading, especially mystery novels, she had a great sense of humor, loved to joke, but was very impatient.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Flora Elliott, Earnestine Elliott an Jo Ann Elliott and one brother, Frank Elliott.
Mary leaves to cherish her memory: her husband, Charles Jackson of Decatur; three children, Kenneth D. Elliott (Tangya) and Letracia Elliott both of Decatur, and Felicia F. Elliott of Louisville, KY; six sisters, Katherine McDaniel (Larry) and Rickey Sue Elliott of Decatur, Vivian McDonald and Maggie Elliott of Louisville, KY, Anna Lou Story and Juanita Turner both of Cleveland, OH; four brothers, Preston Elliott, Larry Elliott, Oscar Elliott and Albert Elliott of Trinity; seven grandchildren, Marquita D. Elliott, Danjuma D. Stevenson and Tiazza T. Elliott all of Decatur, Mark D. Hoosier and Akira L. Elliott both of Louisville, KY, Jeremiah Orr and Norris L. Warren, Jr. both of Decatur; one son-in-law, Mark Stevenson of Decatur; one brother-in-law, Frederick Wade Jackson (Shelia) of Huntsville, AL; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles Sr. and Viola Jackson of Decatur; one special nephew, Fernando Cortez Elliott of Decatur; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
