Mary V. Ryan Downward, 91, Anderson, died August 29, 2003 at Manor Care, Anderson after an extended illness. She was born June 20, 1912 in Markleville, Indiana, and was a lifelong resident of this area. She was a 1930 graduate of Anderson High School Previously she had worked for ten years at a local dry cleaners. She was 50 yr. member of Order of Eastern Star Chapter #154, in Anderson. She loved to read, sew and listen to music. She is survived by her two daughters, Betty K. & husband, Edward G. VanTighem of Great Falls, Montanna and Karen S. Richardson of Indianapolis; two grandsons, Greg VanTighen of Tacoma, Washington and Ted VanTighem of Great Falls, Montana; two great granddaughters, Emma L. VanTighem and Random L. VanTighem, both of Great Falls, Montana; along with several nieces, nephews and one cousin She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas William Downward, whom she married September 23, 1933, and who passed away on October 25 1983; one sister and two brothers.
