Mary TenBrink, age 100, passed away Saturday evening, December 12, 2015 in Kalamazoo. She was born on June 2, 1915 in Kalamazoo, MI a daughter of Jacob and Jennie (Apotheker) DeNooyer and had been a lifelong area resident. Mary was an active member of Third Christian Reformed Church and served as a member of the Missionary Society, the Missionary Committee and Living Branches.

Mary served on the board of Senior Services, Inc. and the Kalamazoo Recreation Department. She also volunteered at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence and the Friendship Club. Mary was also the former owner of the Co-Ed Beauty Shop. Mary had a very strong faith in the Lord; she lived her faith daily. She was famous for her cooking and her hospitality and she loved to entertain in style. On March 8, 1940, Mary married Gerald H. TenBrink who preceded her in death on July 31, 1997.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Jerry, Jake and John DeNooyer; and three sisters, Harriet Cook, Jeannette Prins and Henrietta Oosterbaan. Surviving are two children and their spouses, Jane & Kenneth Loerop of Elmhurst, IL and Harry & Sally TenBrink of Spring Lake, MI; a sister, Ann De Maagd; nine grandchildren, Mary & Tom Steenwyk, Deborah & Todd Gaffner, K.J. & Tammi Loerop, Steven & Kristen Loerop, Mark & Rachel Loerop, Sue & Brad Mitchell, Todd & Jennifer TenBrink, Tim & Alison TenBrink and Ted & Lisa TenBrink; 34 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
